State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation – 2024

Bhubaneswar: The State Level Painting Competition – 2024 on Energy Conservation, organized by the Ministry of Power and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Government of India, was held on 19th November 2024 at the Institute of Engineers, Bhubaneswar. NTPC acted as the Nodal Agency for conducting this prestigious event, which aimed to foster awareness about energy conservation among students.

The themes for this year’s competition were:

  1. Protect Nature’s Gifts, Embrace Sustainable Shifts!
  2. You Have the Power to Save the Power.

The event in Odisha was coordinated by NTPC Eastern Region-II Headquarters, Bhubaneswar.  Shri Arindam Sinha, Regional Executive Director, NTPC (Eastern Region-II), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Smt. Saudamini Dash, Joint Director, OSEPA, and Shri Sangram Keshari Pattnayak, Hon’ble Secretary, Odisha State Centre, Institute of Engineers, were present as Guests of Honour to felicitate the winners and encourage the participants.

This year, 34 lakhs students from 51,226 schools across all 30 districts of Odisha took part in the School Level Painting Competitions. A total of 100 students—50 each from Category A (Classes 5 to 7) and Category B (Classes 8 to 10)—qualified for the State Level Competition.

The details of the top three winners in each category are as follows:

Category A (Classes 5 to 7):

  • First Prize: Shreeram Prasad Ankula, JNV School, Gajapati
  • Second Prize: Amrit Kumar Mohanty, BJEM School, Bhubaneswar
  • Third Prize: Ayushi Satpathy, Montfort School, Dhenkanal

Category B (Classes 8 to 10):

  • First Prize: Ananya Rout, DAV School, Unit 8, Bhubaneswar
  • Second Prize: Prapti Pratiksha Sahu, DAV School, Unit 8, Bhubaneswar
  • Third Prize: Nirali Mohanta, St. Xavier’s High School, Dhenkanal

The top three winners in each category will represent Odisha at the National Level Painting Competition – 2024, to be held in New Delhi on 11th December 2024.

This competition highlights the importance of energy conservation and sustainability while encouraging young minds to contribute towards building a greener future.
