mPHU is Covering 9 Gram Panchayats (GPs) and 22 villages within Basta Block
Basta, Oct 05, 2024: In a continued effort to uplift community welfare, Subarnarekha Port private Limited, in collaboration with Tata Steel Foundation (TSF), is intensifying its healthcare outreach to ensure free and quality medical services for residents of Basta, in Balasore. The Foundation’s Mobile Public Health Unit (mPHU) is playing a critical role in bringing essential health services to some of the most remote and underserved regions of the state.
The mPHU, staffed by a dedicated team including a doctor, pharmacist, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), Data Coordinator, and Lab Technician, is well-equipped to provide primary healthcare services. It offers a range of essential medical tests, including blood pressure (BP), blood sugar, hemoglobin levels, pregnancy tests, and screenings for dengue, malaria, typhoid, and other common diseases.
Covering 9 Gram Panchayats (GPs) and 22 villages within Basta Block, the mPHU aims to make healthcare more accessible and shift the community’s focus from curative to preventive care.
This approach not only ensures early detection and treatment of illnesses but also helps reduce the financial burden on households by minimizing the need for expensive medications and treatments. The initiative emphasizes health awareness and education as a key component, empowering people to take proactive measures in maintaining their well-being.
