Essay and Debate competitions organised, saplings planted
Baliapal(Kalinga Voice) : In line with the theme declared by the United Nations of ‘OnlyOneEarth’for this year, Subarnarekha Port has observed World Environment Day in schools around its proposed port project in Baliapal block in Balasore district. Various programmes like essay writing and debate competitions were organised among the school children from local schools. Besides the youngsters along with their teachers, employees of the Company also planted saplings.
In a function organised in Sidheshwar High School in Amarda Road, more than 40 students had participated in the essay and debate competitions. Following it saplings were planted in the school premises. Shri Prasanna Das, Headmaster-in-charge had attended the programme along with other teachers and the students. Former PanchyatSamiti member Shri Satya Mahapatra, Shri Pramod Kumar, Head, Administration and Community Engagement, Subarnarekha Port and other executives of the Company were present on the occasion.
Another function was organised in Subarnarekha High School, Baliapal, with participation of nearly 80 students. Similar competitions and plantation drive were organised there.
