Immense Contribution of Swami Dayanand Saraswati to DAV and Vedic Culture
Jharsuguda, 12/02/2026: The 203rd birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati—the great helmsman of the DAV movement, the architect of Vedic renaissance, the founder of DAV, and the founder of Arya Samaj—was celebrated with great enthusiasm and solemnity on the DAV Public School, Jharsuguda premises.. On this grand occasion, in the chairmanship of the school Principal, Laxmi kanta Debta, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Swami Dayananda, and heartfelt homage was paid to the revered saint. Retired Professor from IGIT, Sarang, Dhenkanal and LMC member of Nimapara DAV Dr Manoj Kumar Dash attended the occasion as the Chief Guest and joined the havan organized for peace and welfare of the world. In his welcome address, the Principal Shri Debta highlighted the invaluable contributions of Swami Dayanand Saraswati—one of the foremost philosophers, social reformers, and propagators of the Vedas of India’s renaissance era—towards Indian culture. He elaborated on Vedic truth, moral values, modern scientific education, national thought, the message of “Back to the Vedas,” the DAV educational movement, the harmony of modern science-based education with Vedic ethics, the inspirational ideals of Swamiji, women’s education and equality, reverence for nature, opposition to idol worship, resistance to superstitions, and above all, his struggle against social evils and blind practices. Teacher Padmasan Sahoo presented a reading on the life and works of Swami Dayanand. Alekh Bihari Sahoo, Neelima Patel, S.K. Serajuddin, Pabitra Mohan Kabi, Nityananda Sahu, Pramod Nath, Sarita Mishra, Monika Srivastava, Anamika Rani, Sukanya Mahapatra, Manisha Chand, Sunanda Praharaj, Ankita Sahu, Smita Sahu along with all the teachers of the school, were present and contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
