Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms Organise Three-Day Vigilance Workshop

Bhubaneswar, February 07, 2026: Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms organised a three-day annual workshop for Vigilance Officers from all four DISCOMs at the Management Development Centre, Baramunda, aimed at strengthening internal vigilance systems and enhancing consumer confidence.

The workshop was inaugurated by Sri Yeshwant Kumar Jethwa, IPS, Director, Vigilance, Odisha, who addressed the participants on the importance of robust internal vigilance systems in ensuring transparency and public trust. The inaugural session was attended by Sri Gajanan Kale, Chief Odisha Distribution Business & CEO, TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), Sri Arvind Singh, CEO, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), Sri Amit Garg, CEO, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL), Sri Parveen Kumar Verma, CEO, TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) and Sri Sarvanasamy Jaganathan, Senior Advisor (Security & Vigilance), Tata Power Company. Sri Shyam Sundar Choudhury, Chief BHR, Odisha, was also present.

The workshop focused on strengthening awareness of business processes across cross-functional teams and identifying key areas requiring vigilance intervention to ensure ethical and transparent service delivery. Sessions were conducted by officers from the State Vigilance Academy, with emphasis on the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Gajanan Kale, Chief Odisha Distribution Business & CEO TPNODL, said, “A strong and credible vigilance framework is fundamental to transparent operations and public trust. Continuous capacity building of vigilance officers strengthens our commitment to ethical governance and consumer-centric service delivery.”

The programme concluded with a valedictory address by Dr. Sudhanshu Sarangi, IPS, Director General, Fire & Emergency Services, Commandant General, Home Guards and Director, Civil Defence. He underlined the importance of fairness and certainty of consequence in anti-corruption efforts, urging vigilance officers to conduct impartial investigations to build trust among employees, management and the public.

The workshop marked another step in Tata Power-led Odisha DISCOMs’ efforts to build strong internal vigilance systems that enhance transparency and reinforce consumer trust.
