Kalinganagar, January 31, 2026 – In a significant move reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and inclusive growth, Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) has shortlisted 50 candidates from displaced and land-loser families of its Kalinganagar project through a specially curated recruitment drive. This initiative underscores Tata Steel’s dedication to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities to communities affected by its operations.

The exclusive recruitment drive, started in July 2025, was specifically designed to ensure that only eligible candidates from the displaced and land-loser communities of the Tata Steel Kalinganagar plant were considered. Among the selected candidates, 42 are Diploma holders, while 8 are ITI qualified, reflecting a diverse talent pool ready to contribute to the region’s growth journey. These candidates will proceed to document verification on February 4, 2026, followed by a medical examination.

Expressing her excitement, Ms. Reena Patra, a selected candidate from Trijanga Rehabilitation Colony said, “This opportunity from Tata Steel is a dream come true for me and my family. It’s not just a job; it’s a chance to build a secure future and contribute to the growth of my community.” Echoing her sentiments, Mr. Mantu Soy from Gobarghati Rehabilitation Colony added, “I feel incredibly proud and grateful. This specialised drive gave us a big career break, and I am eager to start this new chapter and make my family proud.”

Expressing his heartfelt joy, Mr Sadasiba Padhihari, father of a candidate Sudhakar Padhihari from Trijanga Rehabilitation Colony, said, “We had hoped for such an opportunity, and it came true. When my son appeared for the test, we all prayed he would be selected. Seeing my child secure a future fills my heart with immense happiness and relief. This changes everything for us.”

The selected candidates hail from the rehabilitation colonies of Trijanga, Gobarghati, Sansailo, and Ramthenga, as well as from land-loser families from the nearby panchayats of Danagadi, Pankapal, Baragadia, Mantira, and Nadiabhanga.

Further amplifying this commitment, Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) has also initiated similar processes to offer employment opportunities to individuals from its displaced and land-loser families. NINL is inviting applications for various roles, specifically for ITI and Diploma holders in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy, and Civil engineering, as well as for candidates with a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety.

Both TSK’s direct recruitment and NINL’s parallel initiatives represent landmark steps, ensuring a clear pathway to employment for families who have contributed to our journey.
