Theme: “AI – Architecture Intelligence”

Bhubaneswar : The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Odisha Chapter, proudly announces the return of its flagship annual event — Design Carnival & Build Expo 2025, to be held from 14th to 16th November 2025 at Hotel Crystal Crown, Patia, Bhubaneswar.

This year’s theme, “AI – Architecture Intelligence,” celebrates the evolving dialogue between artificial intelligence and architectural design — exploring how technology can enhance human creativity, revolutionize design processes, and shape the future of our built environment.

Like every year, the Design Carnival & Build Expo promises to be an inspiring confluence of knowledge sharing, design celebration, competitions, and workshops, bringing together architects, academicians, students, and industry professionals from across Odisha.

The event will be inaugurated by Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS, Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Government of Odisha, in the presence of senior members of the Indian Institute of Architects and the Council of Architecture.

The evening will witness the grand opening of the Build Expo 2025 for the public, showcasing leading brands and innovations from the building and construction industry. The highlight of the evening will be a Master Class by renowned architect Ar. Nuru Karim, focusing on Architecture, Urbanism, and Computational Design.

The second day will feature a series of student competitions and workshops, fostering creativity and collaboration among architecture students from across Odisha.

A special Master Session by Ar. Sahil Tanveer will explore the intersection of architecture, artificial intelligence, and speculative design, examining how AI can act as a creative collaborator in shaping our cities and culture.

The evening will host a Panel Discussion titled “Synergy in Architecture: Dialogue between the COA, IIA, Academia, and Practicing Architects”, followed by student cultural performances and a fellowship dinner, celebrating camaraderie within the architectural community.

The final day will begin with the much-awaited Street Carnival at Janpath, Master Canteen, organized in collaboration with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and inaugurated by Sri ChanchalRana, IAS, Commissioner, BMC. The streets will come alive with public art, design installations, and performances, showcasing the creativity of architects and students alike.
