Bhubaneswar, January 26: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour, reaffirming its commitment to nation-building and sustainable development. The national flag was hoisted by Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL, in the presence of senior officials and employees at the corporate office.
As part of the celebrations, TPCODL honoured 30 ‘Green Champions’, environment-conscious consumers who have adopted rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (Utility-Led Aggregation–ULA model). These consumers have installed 1 kW solar systems, availed subsidies and significantly reduced their electricity bills. By embracing clean energy, they have set an example of sustainable living and inspired wider community participation in environmental protection and energy self-reliance. The honoured champions included five consumers from each operational circle and five from the corporate office.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL, said, “The transition to clean energy begins with informed and responsible choices by citizens. Our Green Champions exemplify how adopting rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana benefits households while supporting India’s clean energy goals. TPCODL remains committed to enabling and encouraging such sustainable initiatives across Central Odisha.”
The Republic Day celebration highlighted TPCODL’s continued efforts to empower consumers, promote green energy adoption and support India’s journey towards a sustainable and energy-secure future.
