Bhubaneswar, March 13th 2023: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), has always prioritized the welfare of its employees and is committed to creating employment opportunities for the local eligible youth as per organizational requirements and as approved by the Regulator (OERC). In the last three years, the company has employed 635 local youth across 18 departments.

 The company, since its inception in June 2020, has undertaken various initiatives to ensure timely statutory compliance, social security, safety, and career growth for its employees.

The company has implemented measures to cover all employees under social security schemes like EPF & ESIC. In addition, all employees are covered under a Group Personal Accident (GPA) policy of Rs. 15 Lacs and a life insurance policy of Rs. 5 Lacs for Covid-19 related deaths during the pandemic.

Speaking about various HR initiatives, Mr. M. Shenbagam, Chief Executive Officer, TPCODL said, “At TPCODL, we are committed to providing employment to local eligible youth and believe in creating a safe and empowering work environment. Extension of social security coverage and skill development initiatives reflect our commitment to creating an empowered workforce.”

 To foster the learning and development of employees, TPCODL has established five skill development centers in its five electrical circles viz Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Angul and Paradeep, which function throughout the year to impart training to all workforce including BA employees. These training programs are designed to help employees adopt new technologies and acquire the necessary skills to take up higher responsibilities for their career growth.

The safety of its employees is of utmost importance to TPCODL. The company has ensured the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for employees working in electrical networks. The company conducts behavioural safety training for all employees and implements standard operating procedures (SOP) for taking PTW and ensuring a safe working zone to avoid accidents. Regular safety inspections are conducted at ground zero levels to identify and eliminate potential hazards.
