Berhampur: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited, a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers. To meet the increasing demand, particularly for agricultural needs, a comprehensive network augmentation initiative is underway in Raighar, Umerkote, and its surrounding areas in Nabarangapur. These proactive measures will significantly enhance voltage stability and improve the overall reliability of power distribution in the region.

In a major boost to the power infrastructure, TPSODL has undertaken substantial enhancements at the Raighar Primary Substation (PSS). The upgradation of three Power Transformers (PTRs) to 5 MVA and one to 7.5 MVA has strengthened the substation’s capacity, ensuring it can effectively cater to the rising load demand. Additionally, optimization of PTR taps has been carried out to maintain optimal voltage levels, further ensuring the efficiency of power distribution. The installation of capacitor banks on 11kV feeders has added another layer of stability, helping to improve voltage quality and enhance overall system performance.

As a long-term solution to fortify the power network, the construction of a Grid Substation (GSS) in Raighar is progressing under the supervision of OPTCL. This advanced facility will play a crucial role in reinforcing electricity distribution across the region, enabling seamless and efficient power transmission.

Further strengthening the infrastructure, TPSODL is actively developing multiple Primary Substations under the Mukhyamantri Shakti Bikash Jojana (MMSBJ). The construction of substations at Dhodra, Jodinga, and Dumrimunda, each equipped with 2×5 MVA transformers, is in the final stages. These substations are expected to be commissioned by the end of this month, marking a significant milestone in improving power supply reliability and ensuring a stable voltage profile for consumers in the region.
In addition to these infrastructural developments, TPSODL is working on upgrading select 33kV and 11kV lines to enhance transmission efficiency. Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs) are also being installed on identified 11kV feeders, ensuring a stable and consistent power supply. These efforts align with TPSODL’s vision of providing uninterrupted electricity and elevating consumer satisfaction.

Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL, stated, “At TPSODL, we are committed to strengthening the power infrastructure and ensuring reliable electricity supply to our consumers. The ongoing network augmentation initiatives in Raighar, Umerkote, and surrounding areas are a testament to our dedication to providing reliable power, enhancing voltage stability, and supporting the socio-economic growth of the region. We remain focused on innovation and efficiency to create a robust and sustainable power distribution system for the future.”

Through these strategic initiatives, TPSODL continues to reinforce its dedication to modernizing and strengthening the power infrastructure in Raighar and beyond. With a focus on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability, TPSODL remains committed to empowering communities, supporting economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for the people of Nabarangapur.
