New technology has made it possible to find treatment for all kinds of ailments: Prithviraj Harichandan

Bhubaneswar, Nov. 9: Advancement in medical science has generated hope that most ailments can be taken care of lessening human misery, Mr. Prithviraj Harichandan, Odisha’s minister for Law, Works and Excise said on Saturday.

“Today things have become super specialised and research oriented. New technology has made it possible to find treatment for all kinds of ailments,” Mr. Harichandan said while speaking at the inaugural program of the two-day 5th annual conference of the Odisha Arthroscopy Society being held at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University here.

The new surgical interventions have become cost-effective, less painful and blood less, he said.

“With the boundaries of knowledge expanding, we hope that medical service will improve greatly by 2036,” he said. Odisha will be completing 100 years of statehood in 2036.

Dr. Tanmay Mohanty, President of Odisha Arthroscopy Society (OAS) which functions under the aegis of Odisha Orthopaedic Association (OOA), presided.

The program was addressed by Dr. R. N. Mohanty, President of OOA, Dr. Ashutosh Mohapatra, Secretary of OOA, Dr. Sandeep R. Biraris, Secretary of Indian Arthroscopy Society, Dr. Satya Ranjan Patra, Secretary of OAS, Prof. (Dr.) Sanghamitra Mishra, Dean of Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, Prof. (Dr.) Pushparaj Samantasinhar, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Prof. (Dr.) Aniruddha Dash, Chairman of the Organising Committee and Dr. Sandeep Lenka, Organising Secretary also spoke.
