MOS Railways Suresh Angadi passes away
New Delhi(Kalinga Voice) : Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi passes away in AIIMS, Delhi. He was tested positive for COVID19. He was 65. Angadi had tested COVID positive on September 11 . The BJP leader passed away at around 8 pm at the AIIMS trauma center which has been converted into a dedicated COVID-19 facility . He is the first Union minister to have died of coronavirus. At least six MLAs and three MPs have earlier succumbed to it.Angadi was a four-time BJP MP elected from Belagavi to Lok Sabha in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019 consecutively.
Due to the sad demise of Suresh Angadi, Minister of State for Railways, it has been decided that the national flag will be flown half mast on 24 September 2020 in all Government offices in Delhi where it is usually flown, informed Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the sad demise. He tweeted that Suresh Angadi was a dedicated MP and effective minister, admired across the spectrum. His demise is saddening. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this sad hour.
Odisha Chief Minister Navin Pattanaik also condoled the demise of Union Minister. Sri Minister tweeted ” Deeply saddened to learn about passing away of Union Minister of State for Railways, Sri Suresh Angadi. My thoughts & prayers are with the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace”.
BJP President JP Nadda Visited the residence of the late Minister and paid homage . Sri Nadda in his condolence message said “It is unfortunate that one of our senior leaders Angadi Ji passed away today. Throughout his life, he worked for the welfare of people. I pray to the almighty to give strength to his family so that they can overcome this grief”
“Words fail me at this time, he was an absolutely wonderful human being. It is a deep personal loss for me. He was elder to me, he always guided & supported me. Under his leadership, Indian railways were taking many new dimensions” Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said in his condolence message.
Union petroleum , Natural gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Condoled the sad demise of the Union Minister . In a tweet Sri Pradhan expressed deep grief by saying “Shocked and saddened to learn about the passing away of Shri Suresh Angadi ji. Unbelievable that our colleague is no more with us. A veteran leader and a gem of a person, his demise is a huge loss to the people of Karnataka and the Party. My sincerest condolences.”
