Utkal Alumina’s Baphlimali Mines Bags Top Safety Award at 42nd Annual Mines Safety Week

Rayagada,17thJuly: Utkal Alumina International Limited (UAIL), a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries of the Aditya Birla Group, located in Doraguda, Tikiri in Rayagada district has been awarded at the state level for outstanding performance in safety standards at its Baphlimali Mines. The recognition was presented under the B1 group of Bhubaneswar Circle 2 during the 42nd Annual Mines Safety Week celebrations held at Barbil, Keonjhar.
The award was presented in recognition to UAIL’s strict adherence to comprehensive safety protocols and employee health standards, making it a model for safety excellence in mining operations. The Baphlimali Mines demonstrated exceptional compliance with safety transparency and operational discipline, setting a benchmark in the industry.
The award ceremony, hosted by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, was attended by Vijay Chauhan, Mines Head of Baphlimali, UAIL along with other senior officials who had received the honour on behalf of the company. Other Senior dignitaries present during the event were Abhinas Kumar Mishra, Director of Mines Safety Circle 1, Bhubaneswar, and Nishan Balasubramanian, Director of Mines Safety, Circle 2, Bhubaneswar, along with other senior officials from the mining department.
Speaking on the occasion, Mines Head Vijay Chauhan stated, “Safety is not just a compliance requirement, but a part of our daily work culture. We consistently guide our workforce to strictly follow the defined safety protocols in all mining operations. This recognition will further motivate our employees and encourage a deeper commitment to safety in future.”
