Kashipur/ Baikuntha Duria : Towards providing sustainable sources of livelihood for the unemployed girls, the CSR wing of Utkal Alumina International Limited, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla Group is running a Tailoring Training project named Koushyalya at Jogiparitunda village. Under this project the girls are being provided with advanced Tailoring Training for 6 month and after successful completion of the course they are provided with a certificate.
In this regard, A felicitation ceremony was organised at Jogiparitunda on 27th August 2021 where 25 female trainees were provided with Training Completion certificates. Out of them 15 trainees who have shown their interest for self-entrepreneurship are supported with Sewing Machines. The trainees are from different villages of Jogiparitunda, Hatikhaman and Dandamunda villages which are located around the periphery of UAIL. The women were deeply exhilarated on receiving the certificates and Sewing machines and acknowledged the effort of Utkal Alumina to take up more such initiatives in future.
The Community leaders who attended this programme expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the company for taking up this initiative especially for the unemployed women youth and expressed that this initiative may produce a beam of hope in the lives of the women around the periphery and come handy in enhancing their income. They also expressed their willingness to cooperate with the company in this type of noble initiatives.
Speaking on the Occasion, The Head CSR Dr. Lopamudra Priyadarsini congratulated the female participants upon successful completion of the training and expressed that “UAIL is always devoted to bring a transformational change in the lives of people around the community. Our pursuits of enhancing livelihood go hand in hand with income sustenance and diversifying income sources to the people around our periphery.”
The Mines Head, Mr. Mukesh Jha has requested the attendees to continue their cooperation to carry out different interventions successfully. He also reiterated that Company always believes in Inclusive growth. He has also informed the participants regarding various development projects that are store for them in near future.
