Jharsuguda :Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium,observed National Road Safety Week in and around its operations at Jharsuguda by organizing a week-long awareness campaign on road safety for employees, business partners and the community at large.In line with the theme ‘Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha’, the company carried out awareness programs on the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and observing road safety protocols.Through these efforts, the company reached out to more than 21,000 citizens in the district with this important message.
As part of the campaign, the company carried outseveral initiatives highlighting the importance of road safety, which included a bike rally, Nukkad Natak performances across the town, and a skit performance by actors playing ‘Yamraj & Chitragupt’, all of which wereall highly appreciated by members of the public. Apart from these, training sessions were conducted at the operations to appraise employees and business partners on road safety measures, along with a medical camp for drivers, launch of ‘Suraksha Rath’, and an award distribution ceremony for business partners and employees for best safety practices and performances. The awareness campaign was conducted in areas such as Maa Samaleswari Nagar, Katikela,Badmal Police Station, Jharsuguda bus stand and in schools & colleges across Jharsuguda.
Key administrative personnel of the district took part in the proceedings of the Road Safety Week, including Shri Saroj Kumar Samal, District Magistrate& Collector-Jharsuguda, Mr. Dinabandhu Sundi, Regional Transportation Officer (RTO)-Jharsuguda, Mr. Loknath Meher, Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI)-Jharsuguda, Mr.Amitav Panda, Inspector-in-charge (IIC)-Badmal Police Station, Mr. Nirmal Mohapatra, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO)-Jharsuguda, and Mr. S.N. Das, President, Private Bus Owners Association-Jharsuguda.
