Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Voice) : Odisha Vigilance filed cases against the father-son duo, who obstructed the investigating team while executing a search warrant issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
On the strength of search warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur, a team of Odisha Vigilance led by DSP Sri Sarat Chandra Sahu and official witnesses had been to the residential four-storeyed building of Sri Jagannath Sethy, Executing Engineer, Rural Works (Electrical) Division, Berhampur located at Gajapati Nagar, 8th lane, Berhampur, Dist-Ganjam on 09.03.2022 in order to execute the order of the Hon’ble Court for conducting search of the above residential house on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets. However, accused Sri Jagannatha Sethy, by locking the entrance door from inside, intentionally did not allow the Vigilance team to enter the house in order to conduct searches, though he was intimated over telephone as well as knocking of door of his house. When the team was compelled to break open the door, the accused finally opened the door. It was well evident that the accused was well aware about the presence and purpose of the search team and intentionally obstructed the public servants in discharge of their official duty by locking the entrance door intentionally. Hence, complaint has been filed on 14.03.2022 vide 2 CC Case No 20/2022 U/s 186 IPC in the Court of Hon’ble SDJM, Berhampur against accused Sri Jagannath Sethy for prosecuting him for obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions.
Similarly, Sri Sibaditya Sarbeswar, S/O-Sri Jagannath Sethy did not allow the Vigilance team led by DSP Sri Arun Kumar Nayak, OPS, DSP Vigilance, Phulbani Unit and witnesses to enter into his four storeyed residential building located at AIIMs Nagar 7th Line, Bhubaneswar on 09.03.2022, in spite of being intimated about the presence and purpose of search team and obstructed public servants in discharge of public functions. Hence, 2 CC Case No 14/2022 U/s 186 IPC has been filed on 14.03.2022 against Sri Sibaditya Sarbeswar in the Court of Hon’ble SDJM, Bhubaneswar for prosecuting him U/s 186 IPC.
