New Delhi, 16 July’ 2024. In the village of Rangala, an event was organized to celebrate World Youth Skills Day 2024 by SBI Foundation and the Akhil Bhartiya Gramin Uthan Samiti under the CSR Gram Seva Project of SBI Foundation at the SBI Gram Seva Kendra. The theme of World Youth Skills Day ,“Youth Skills for Peace and Development” highlighted the crucial role of youth skills in peace building and conflict resolution in social life. The world today faces many challenges, many of which affect the youth, such as violent conflicts, education, and the negative influence of the online environment. Persistent economic inequality limits opportunities. These issues not only threaten the stability of society as a whole but also the future of individuals. It is important to equip youth with the necessary skills to promote sustainable development, foster a culture of peace, nurture responsible global citizens, and create a more just, socially stable, and sustainable future for all.
Gopal Bajiya (Programme Coordinator, ABGUS) emphasized, “On World Youth Skills Day, we recognize the potential of youth as the milk of peace and commit to providing them with the skills and opportunities to face the challenges and contribute to a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable future. Today, and every day, let’s ensure that educators transform and guarantee that youth have everything they need to develop the skills necessary to shape a more peaceful and sustainable future for all.”
In this program, 53 young men and women participated. During the event, the participants also planted trees in the Jan Van created by SBI in the village of Kalarpuri.
The program was attended by Anil Sharma, Gopal Bajiya, Suresh, Seema Vikas, Ashok Kumar, Priyanka, and others.
