Bhadrak : In an effort to engage communities in fostering the game of football as an engine of social change, ProSocio Sports and Games Federation conducted a ‘Winter Football Carnival’ at Mahavir Field, Purana Bazaar, Bhadrak on the Christmas Day.
Over 90 school children under the age group of 15 years participated in the day long competition from 10 different schools of the locality. With an aim to provide year long coaching program for a sustainable football ecosystem, the Football Carnival meant to scout football talents who can be further imparted advance coaching through Football Association of Odisha certified coaches.
Members from Young Indians, Bhubaneswar, chapter graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour and gave away the prizes to the participants. “It was both surprising and delightful to see so many girls coming out for the first time to play football here. What is more encouraging to see that they have been accompanied by their parents. Let this initiative bring more such girls players to the forefront and be an agent of change,” said Sk Farooq, social activist and a football patron of Rovers Club. Gopal Krushna Mohapatra Foundation, Football Association of Odisha and Bhadrak Distric Athletic Association supported in conducting the Football Carnival.
