Bhubaneswar: Smt Nina Beura, Superintendent of Excise, Rayagada has been caught by Vigilance late night Yesterday on her way to Bhubaneswar and Rs 6 Lakhs was recovered from her possession.
As per information provided by Vigilance Department , based on credible information about proceeding of Superintendent of Excise, Rayagada Smt Beura from Rayagada to Bhubaneswar carrying ill gotten money collected from different sources, she was intercepted by a team of Odisha Vigilance near Bhubaneswar late night yesterday around 11.30PM . During interception Rs 6 Lakhs was recovered from her possession, which she could not account for satisfactorily. Following interception, searches are being done at different residential areas of Smt Beura and her relatives. Her husband, Sri Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, IIC, Mahanga PS, on getting tip off, left Mahanga PS to evade search. The Vigilance team, on reaching his quarter at Mahanga, found it locked and the IIC untraceable. He has been asked to report to BBSR Vig Division for enquiry.
