Visit of Central Team to DDU-GKY training centres

Bhubaneswar, 09/05/2025: A two-member team of the Ministry of Rural Development has visited various training centres under the skill development training programme Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), implemented in Odisha by ORMAS, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department. Prior to the visit, the two-member team, comprising Shri Shashi Kumar Yadav, Mission Manager (Skill Development) and Shri Lokesh Sukhwani, Mission Manager (Legal Affairs), held detailed discussions with the officials on various issues in implementation of the DDU-GKY programme at the ORMAS office, Bhubaneswar, on 6th May 2025.
After this, the central team visited the training centre of Wazir Advisor Private Limited at Jagatpur in Cuttack district. Later, they visited the Skill Development Training Centres of Shahi Exports at Jatni and Cotton Blossom Company at Kantabada in Khurda district. During this occasion, the central team discussed with the trainees and trainers of the training centre and visited the training lab, hostel and canteen, etc.
After visiting the training centres, the central team had detailed discussions with the representatives of Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) on issues such as project closure, release of funds, issues related to the management of the Kaushal Bharat Portal, etc.
It is worth noting that in Odisha, the employment-linked skill development training program Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) has been implemented by ORMAS under the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department since 2014.
