Kashipur, 9/9: Serving the humanity cause by donating blood. With this noble objective of saving lives through blood donation, Utkal Alumina International Ltd, a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla Group, in association with the District Blood Centre, organised a mega blood donation camp at Baphlimali Mines today.
The camp was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp. Shri Vijay Chauhan, Head of Baphlimali Mines, led by example by donating blood and encouraged fellow employees to participate actively. Addressing the gathering, Shri Chauhan said that responsible citizens must ensure that no life is lost due to scarcity of blood. He urged everyone to contribute passionately to this noble cause, as donating blood gives someone a new life.
Utkal Alumina has consistently played a vital role in community welfare through its CSR initiatives. The company continues to strive for skill-based livelihood promotion, social and economic development in its surrounding and impacted villages. In line with this commitment, the blood donation camp was organised to ensure that no life is lost due to shortage of blood.
Employees of Utkal Alumina, Baphlimali Mines and partner companies participated wholeheartedly in the camp. Among those present Kashipur IIC Deb Mallick, SI Prashant Swain, Andirakanch SI Arun Patra, Utkal Alumina CSR Head Lopamudra Mishra, Mines CSR Head Manoj Dash, along with Susanta Dhal, Binod Pujari, Rupen Pattnaik, Diganta Mohanty, Sanjeev Mohanty, Dilip Naik, Devi Priya, Nirupama Barik, Sasmita Khosla, Sudhir Naik and other CSR and Mines department staff. In this camp a total of 70 units of blood were collected.
