Olympians at TPCODL’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana Stall- Padma Shri Dilip Tirkey, Sravani and Deepgrace

Bhubaneswar: Hockey India President and Olympian Padma Shri Dilip Tirkey, along with Olympians Sravani Nand and Deepgrace Ekka, visited the TPCODL stall on the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana at the Kalinga Stadium on Saturday. The athletes interacted briefly with the team at the stall and were apprised of the key features of the rooftop solar initiative.

Mr. Tirkey said that solar energy has become an important choice for households and encouraged citizens to make use of the support available under the scheme.

Utkal Karate School Secretary Dr. Hari Prasad Pattnaik also visited the stall and received an outline of how easily and affordably rooftop solar panels can be installed through this scheme.

Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana – ULA model, consumers can install a 1 kW rooftop solar system for only ₹5,000 (solar meter cost extra). The solar modules come with a 25-year warranty. The DISCOM will provide maintenance services free of cost for five years.

Consumers are eligible for subsidy support from both the Central and State Governments.

By adopting green energy, consumers can reduce high electricity bills while contributing to a more environment-friendly atmosphere.
