NTPC Bongaigaon Employees Complete Full Marathon at Kokrajhar NCC Marathon

Bongaigaon/Kokrajhar: Demonstrating exceptional endurance, determination and commitment to fitness, three employees of NTPC Bongaigaon successfully completed the Full Marathon (42 km) during the 2nd Edition of the Kokrajhar NCC Full Marathon, organised in association with the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Government under the theme “City of Peace.”
The three employees of NTPC Bongaigaon — Shri Shaik Muneer Basha, Addl General Manager(EMD), Shri Jitendra Kumar Mohanty, Deputy General Manager (Mechanical Maintenance – Off Site), and Shri Yadagiri Kurukondalu, Senior Manager (Planning & Services) — completed the demanding 42 km full marathon, bringing laurels to the station and reflecting the strong culture of fitness and perseverance among NTPC employees.

In addition to the full marathon achievers, more than 30 employees and family members of NTPC Bongaigaon, under the aegis of the Sports Council, NTPC Bongaigaon, participated enthusiastically in various categories of the marathon including 5 km (Run for Fun), 10 km and 21 km Half Marathon, showcasing a spirit of unity, wellness and sportsmanship.

Shri Anurag Gupta, GM (O&M), NTPC Bongaigaon, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and also actively participated in the event by completing the 5 km run. Shri Gupta flagged off the 21 km Half Marathon along with senior officials of NCC, encouraging participants and promoting the message of a healthy and active lifestyle. The marathon witnessed participation of more than 2000 athletes and NCC cadets from across Assam, highlighting Kokrajhar as a destination of peace, unity and tourism potential.

The accomplishment of NTPC Bongaigaon employees in completing the full marathon stands as a proud moment for the NTPC Bongaigaon family and reflects the organisation’s continuous efforts in promoting Fit India initiatives, employee wellness and community engagement in the region.
