Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre hosts elite gymnastics coaching program

Bhubaneswar, April 15, 2026: In a major step to elevate gymnastics coaching standards across Asia, Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (HPC) proudly hosted the World Gymnastics Academy – Artistic Level 1 Coaches Education Program at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. This milestone marks the first-ever delivery of a globally benchmarked FIG Academy Coaches Education Program at the HPC, reinforcing its growing reputation as a regional hub of excellence. The five-day program brought together around 50 coaches from across Asia, who were selected for the course through online examination conducted by World Gymnastics.
Out of the nine coaches selected from Odisha, five are from the Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre namely Ankita Baidya, Mohit Manro, Barindrita Roy, Sachin Sharma, and Pareswar Pushpalak.
The program was led by internationally acclaimed FIG Academy Experts, Men Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) specialists Damien Millot (Course Leader) from France and Jonathan Martin from Belgium along with Women Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) experts Andrei Levit from Poland and Monica Calabro from Argentina. Together, they imparted advanced, globally aligned coaching methodologies to participants. The intensive curriculum covered critical apparatus and disciplines including MAG & WAG Vault, MAG Pommel Horse, WAG Floor, WAG Beam and Floor combinations, and WAG Artistic Preparation, along with a wide range of technical skills essential for modern day gymnastics coaching. The program is expected to create a lasting impact by enhancing coaching standards, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and contributing to the development of athletes capable of competing at the highest international level.
All the five coaches from HPC successfully completed the Level 1 certification program. Notably, in the men’s category, Sachin Sharma emerged as the topper of the certification program, with Mohit Manro ranking third. This shows the advanced coaching expertise being nurtured at the centre.
Hosting this program marks a significant step forward for the Odisha AM/NS India High Performance Centre. Beyond immediate knowledge transfer, it enables direct access to international expertise, elevates the technical capabilities of in-house coaches, and strengthens the centre’s position as a leading destination for elite gymnastics training in India and Asia.
