Groundbreaking Ceremony of Heteregeneous Project is photo shoot of Double Engine Government: BJD
Bhubaneswar, 19/04/2026: The Biju Janata Dal strongly condemns the BJP Government’s attempt to mislead the people of Odisha through a staged “Groundbreaking Ceremony” of the Heterogeneous Integration Packaging Solution project at Infovalley, Bhubaneswar.
In a press statement, Party Media Co ordinator and Spokesperson Dr. Lenin Mohanty said this event is nothing but a photo-shoot exercise by the so-called “Double Engine Sarkar”. It is designed solely to manufacture a false narrative of industrial progress while the ground reality of Odisha’s investment climate continues to deteriorate rapidly.
The Government of India had announced several semiconductor projects for Odisha. Yet, under the present BJP dispensation in the state, the S Ram and N Ram Semiconductor projects have already exited Odisha. Several other major investment proposals have similarly withdrawn since the BJP came to power.
Mere ribbon-cutting and photo-ops do not constitute “grounding of investment”.
Grounding of investment happens only when a project actually starts production or delivers services. Last year, the BJP Government conducted numerous such ribbon-cutting ceremonies. The people of Odisha have a right to know what is the current status of those projects today?
In sharp contrast, when BJD was in power, we focused on actual grounding of investments rather than publicity stunts. Odisha achieved over 34% grounding of investment proposals under BJD rule significantly higher than the national Make in India average of just 22%.
The latest official figures expose the hollowness of BJP’s claims: Odisha received only Rs. 39 crore in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during 2024-25 one of the lowest figures among all major states in India.
The tall claims of “lakh-crore investments” being repeatedly made by the BJP Government are nothing but a false narrative and blatant propaganda. Empty announcements and photo-shoots cannot substitute for real industrial growth, employment generation and economic development.
The Biju Janata Dal will continue to expose this double-engine deception and will keep fighting for genuine, result-oriented investment and development that actually benefits the people of Odisha.
