NTPC Bongaigaon Encourages Young Football Talent; Sports Kits Distributed to Under-13 Power Warriors FC Team

Bongaigaon: In a significant step towards promoting grassroots football and nurturing young sporting talent, NTPC Bongaigaon in association with Sports Council, distributed sports kits to the Under-13 boys of Power Warriors FC sponsored by NTPC Bongaigaon for their participation in the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) Football League 2026 as part of CSR. The kits were distributed by Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, in the presence of Shri Amit Kumar Asthana, Head of HR, NTPC Bongaigaon, officials of the Sports Council, HR Department, coaches and young footballers.

The team’s participation marks a special milestone as it is the first-ever Under-13 football team supported by NTPC Bongaigaon to compete in the KDSA League. This initiative reflects NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to promoting sports, youth development and creating opportunities for aspiring footballers from the region. A notable feature of the team is that five players are wards of NTPC Bongaigaon employees, who will represent the station for the first time in an Under-13 KDSA league competition. Their participation highlights the growing sporting culture within the NTPC township and the encouragement extended to children to pursue sports alongside academics.
