Bongaigaon: As part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 celebrations, NTPC Bongaigaon, in association with the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, has undertaken a series of awareness and outreach initiatives benefiting more than 400 young minds across the power station and nearby communities under its CSR initiative.
Under the programme, Swachhata and Hygiene Kits were distributed to 100 girl students of Salakati M.E. School to promote personal hygiene and cleanliness practices among young students in association with Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club of the power station. Earlier, NTPC Bongaigaon had also organized a painting competition for students of Classes VI to VIII in the school on the theme of cleanliness and environmental awareness, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from the school children.
To further strengthen awareness on cleanliness and hygiene, selfie booths, signature campaigns, and various Swachhata-themed activities were conducted in nearby schools located in the vicinity of the power station, encouraging students to become ambassadors of cleanliness in their communities.
Dr. Olie Mitra, Pediatrician, NTPC Bongaigaon Hospital, conducted a special hygiene awareness session, sensitizing the students on the importance of personal hygiene, sanitation, and healthy lifestyle practices. The programme was graced by Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon, along with officials of NTPC Bongaigaon, office bearers of the ladies club, school authorities, teachers, and students. Smt. Maitra appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and urged them to become change-makers by spreading the message of cleanliness and hygiene within their families and communities.
