Bhubaneswar : As the monsoon season brings heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, urges all consumers to prioritize electrical safety and remain vigilant around electrical installations.

Consumers are advised to avoid waterlogged areas near electric poles, transformers, feeder pillars and other electrical equipment. In case of fallen power lines, snapped conductors, or damaged electrical infrastructure, maintain a safe distance and immediately report the matter to TPCODL. Do not attempt to touch or move any electrical equipment or cables under any circumstances.

Households should ensure proper earthing, maintain safe internal wiring and unplug non-essential electrical appliances during lightning and severe storms. Consumers are also encouraged to promptly report any power-related emergencies through TPCODL’s 24×7 toll-free helpline 1912.

Speaking on the occasion, Gajanan S. Kale, CEO, TPCODL, said: “At TPCODL, consumer safety remains our highest priority, especially during the monsoon season when electrical hazards can increase due to heavy rains and thunderstorms. While our teams are fully prepared to ensure reliable power supply and respond swiftly to any disruptions, we urge consumers to exercise caution around electrical installations, avoid waterlogged areas near power infrastructure and immediately report any damaged lines or equipment. By following basic electrical safety practices, we can work together to ensure a safe and incident-free monsoon for all.”

“Your safety is our priority. Stay alert, stay safe and help us ensure a safe monsoon for everyone. Together, let’s prevent electrical accidents and ensure uninterrupted power supply across Central Odisha,” appealed TPCODL.
