“Beyond a Kitchen, A Movement of Compassion: JSW JFE Steel Launches Geetu Seva Kitchen”
Jharsuguda: Reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and compassionate service, JSW JFE Steel inaugurated Geetu Seva Kitchen, a noble initiative of the JSW Group inspired by Mrs. Sangeeta Jindal, Chairperson, JSW Foundation, on September 16, 2026. Guided by the motto “Seva Paramo Dharma” (Service is the Highest Duty), the initiative aims to provide nutritious meals to the needy, patients’ attendants, orphanages, and old-age homes.
The kitchen was inaugurated by Mr. Umesh Rai, Whole-Time Director & CEO, JSW JFE Steel, in the presence of the company’s senior leadership team and members of Akanksha Ladies Club. Under the leadership of Mrs. Priti Rai, President, Akanksha Ladies Club, the initiative commenced its first act of service by distributing food packets to patients’ attendants and housekeeping staff at Sanjeevani Hospital, Jharsuguda.
Inspired by the vision of Mrs. Sangeeta Jindal to care for and support communities in need, Geetu Seva Kitchen began its journey with a dedicated team of 30 enthusiastic women volunteers committed to serving food with love, compassion, and dignity.
The kitchen has been equipped with modern facilities and follows a structured process to ensure the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Umesh Rai, Whole-Time Director & CEO, JSW JFE Steel, said, “Geetu Seva Kitchen reflects our belief that true progress is measured not only by industrial growth but also by the positive impact we create in society. With its launch, Geetu Seva Kitchen embarks on a mission to become more than just a community kitchen—a movement dedicated to spreading kindness, compassion, and service across the region.
Geetu Seva Kitchen is a noble initiative of the JSW Group started by Mrs. Sangeeta Jindal, Chairperson, JSW Foundation is a journey of Compassion with main objective of helping the needy. With the motto “Service is the Highest Duty” “Seva Paramo Dharma” the community kitchen will help the needy and poor across Hospitals, Orphanages & Old Age Homes by preparing and distribute food packets.
JSW JFE Steel started Geetu Seva Kitchen with the members of Akanksha Ladies Club under the able leadership of its President Mrs. Priti Rai. The kitchen was inaugurated on 16th Sep 2026 by Mr. Umesh Rai, Whole Time Director & CEO, JSW JFE Steel along with the senior leadership team. Led by Mrs. Priti Rai, President, Akanksha Ladies Club, the kitchen started it’s first Seva by distributing food packets to patient’s attendant and housekeeping staffs at the Sanjeevani Hospital, Jharsuguda.
Mrs. Sangita Jindal always inspired to take care of the society and support those in need. Geetu Seva Kitchen began with a small team of 30 enthusiastic ladies united by a common purpose to serve food with Love, Compassion & Dignity.
The kitchen is established by the JSW JFE Steel management with necessary modern amenities and introduced a systematic process to maintain and ensure Hygiene and Cleanliness for smooth functioning.
Geetu Seva Kitchen started the journey with a promise to make it more than a kitchen, a movement of compassion and service.
