Director(Operations) inaugurates Heads of Ash Management meet -2026 at Bongaigaon
Bongaigaon: NTPC Bongaigaon, has hosted two-day Ash Utilization (AU) Meet 2026 from 21st May 2026 at Bongaigaon. Centred on the theme “Driving Sustainable Ash Utilization with Digital Transformation,”. The event provides a collaborative platform for deliberations on digital initiatives, infrastructure strengthening, and sustainable ash management practices across NTPC stations.

Addressing the inaugural session, Shri Ravindra Kumar, Director (Operations), underscored the strategic imperative of repositioning ash as a valuable resource with significant revenue potential. In his keynote address, he emphasised the pivotal role of digital integration in enhancing ash management efficiency and urged all stations to actively utilise the AsTraM portal for improved transparency in tracking, transportation monitoring, and billing.
He further highlighted the importance of optimising the Rail-Cum-Road (RCR) mode to strengthen long-distance ash logistics, accelerating the completion of DAES facilities, and maintaining an uncompromising focus on safety at ash dykes.

The inaugural session was attended by by Shri Vijay Chand (RED–ER II), Shri R.B. Mallik (ED, Ash Management–NI), Shri Chandramouli Kasina (ED–SSEA), Shri Arnab Maitra (HoP, Bongaigaon), Shri G. Raja Shekar (GM, Corporate Vigilance), Shri Anurag Gupta (GM, O&M Bongaigaon), and Shri Subhash Gokhale (GM, AMCC). The event is attended by Heads of Ash Utilization Departments (AUDs) from NTPC stations, members of the Corporate OS and Ash Management teams, regional representatives, and representative of USSC Group.

The programme includes presentations by AMCC, Corporate Vigilance, NTPC stations (region-wise), and the USSC Group, along with sessions on new initiatives. A technical visit to the NTPC Bongaigaon Ash Dyke is also planned to facilitate practical insights and foster solution-oriented collaboration.
