Bhubaneswar, 21/04/2026:After the incident of a 6-year-old girl being raped in Brahmagiri area of Puri district came to the fore, the Biju Janata Dal has lashed out at the state government, alleging that the safety of women and children in the state has become a cause of concern.
Biju Janata Dal Vice President and former Minister Shri Sanjay Kumar Dasburma today reacted to the media and expressed concern over the incident of rape of a
6 year old girl in Brahmagiri area. Shri Dasburma said that the safety of women and children in the state is fast deteriorating day by day. Although the BJD and other opposition parties have been raising their voices on this issue, the government has not been able to take any concrete action. Such incidents are being seen frequently in the tourist destinations of the state. Chilika in the Brahmagiri area is another attractive tourist destination. Such incidents are negatively impacting the tourism development of the state. Therefore, the police should take this incident seriously and immediately arrest the accused and take concrete action.
ShriDasburma said that a BJD delegation team will visit the spot and gather all the details about the incident and meet the victims to gather all the information. After that, the BJD will express its opinion.
