Bhubaneswar to Host 2nd All India JKA Karate Championship 2026& JKAWF INDIA Annual Summer Camp

Bhubaneswar, June 2: Odisha is all set to witness one of the country’s most significant traditional karate events as the JKAWF INDIA Annual Summer Karate Camp 2026 and the 2nd All India JKA Karate Championship 2026 will be organized from June 5 to 7, 2026, at the Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.

The three-day mega event will bring together karate practitioners, instructors, referees, officials and enthusiasts from across India. Participants from 36 JKA branches across 13 states are expected to attend the camp and championship, making it one of the largest gatherings of traditional karate practitioners in the country.

The Organising Committee is headed by Asit Tripathy, Retd. IAS, Former Chief Secretary of Odisha, as Chairman. Brahmananda Mishra, Ex-President, UCCI, serves as Vice Chairman, while Mr. Sanjib Panda, IPS, ADG of Police, Odisha, is the President of the event.

The Summer Karate Camp, scheduled to commence on June 5, will feature intensive technical training sessions led by Satoshi Takahashi Shihan, 7th Dan, JKA Headquarters Instructor and Coach of the JKA National Team, Japan. His presence is expected to provide an invaluable learning opportunity for karate practitioners and contribute significantly to the advancement of traditional JKA Karate standards in India.

A major highlight of the event will also be the presence of Anil Sinha Sensei, one of the founding members of JKA Karate in India and a former World Bank professional. A respected veteran instructor, he will mentor and guide the younger generation of karate practitioners during the camp and championship.

Following the training camp, the 2nd All India JKA Karate Championship 2026 will be held on June 6 and 7, featuring nearly 600 contestants from 36 JKA branches across 13 states competing in various categories under JKA rules. Around 500 guardians and spectators are also expected to witness the championship.

The championship’s technical panel will be headed by Satoshi Takahashi Shihan as Master Chief Judge, assisted by Somnath Palchoudhury, Vice Chief Judge, along with an experienced team of judges and technical officials from across the country.

The event is being organized under the leadership of Anil Kumar Singh, President, JKAWF India Odisha, and Dharmanshu Pandey, General Secretary, JKAWF India Odisha, with the active support of karate administrators, instructors and volunteers committed to promoting traditional Japanese martial arts in India.

The championship aims to promote competitive excellence while strengthening the values of discipline, unity, sportsmanship and character development among young practitioners. Outstanding performers will be identified by the Technical Committee of JKAWF INDIA and groomed for future international competitions, including major championships in Japan.

The organizers have extended a warm invitation to sports enthusiasts, students, parents, media professionals, photographers and members of the public to witness and support this landmark event.
