Odisha CM Naveen Pattanaik Congratulated
New Delhi /Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : Odisha born former IAS officer Girish Chandra Murmu, Comptroller & Auditor General of India, has been elected as External Auditor of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Geneva for three years, an official statement said on Friday. Murmu will assume the position shortly by taking charge from the Supreme Audit Institution of Switzerland.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattanaik Congratulated Sri Murmu for his new assignment and wished him best for his new responsibility . In a tweet CM Sri Pattanaik says ” Congratulate #Odisha born CAG of India, Girish Chandra Murmu for being elected as the external auditor of Inter-Parliamentary Union, Geneva. Wish him best for his new responsibility.”
The election took place at the virtual meeting of the 284th session of the IPU which is a 179 countries Parliamentarians body, also having 13 associate members. The Inter Parliamentary Union(IPU) has permanent observer status at the United Nations General Assembly.
