Charter Day Celebration of the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Held with Great Enthusiasm

Bhubaneswar, 11 May 2026: The Charter Day Celebration of the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fellowship at Rotary Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, in the gracious presence of distinguished guests, Rotarians, family members, and well-wishers.

The celebration was graced by District Governor Manoj Tripathy as the Chief Guest. First Lady Rtn. Madhumita Tripathy also graced the occasion along with Past District Governor D N Padhi, Past District Governor N K Mishra and Assistant Governor D K Das.

Senior Rotarians, past leaders, Anns, Rotaractors, and Interactors joined the memorable celebration.

Addressing the gathering, President Rtn. Sanjaya Choudhury highlighted the glorious legacy of the club and expressed gratitude to the past leaders whose dedication and visionary leadership established the club as one of the premier clubs of the district.

The President stated that the current Rotary year has truly been a “Miracle Year” with several innovative and impactful initiatives undertaken for the welfare of society. Major initiatives of the year included:

  • Formation of the Rotary Rapid Action Group dedicated to supporting the Rotary family and society during emergencies and humanitarian activities.
  • Reactivation of RCCs and successful conduct of four RCC elections to strengthen grassroots community service.
  • Launch of the innovative and sustainable project SOHAM at Asha Building for autistic children, focusing on care, empowerment, and skill development.
  • Reinstallation of the RCSP leadership team and successful conduct of fresh elections.
  • Documentation and preservation of records of old and new club projects for future leadership reference.
  • Support to the humanitarian initiative Karunashraya.
  • Formation of a Think Tank Group comprising future leaders and project enthusiasts for brainstorming sustainable projects and leadership development.

During the celebration, Past District Governors, Past Presidents, and Presidents from various Rotary clubs were felicitated by the club in recognition of their outstanding contribution, leadership, and dedicated service to Rotary and society.

President Rtn. Sanjaya Choudhury also appreciated the active participation and tireless efforts of all club members and their families in making the year successful.

District Governor Manoj Tripathy appreciated the club for its remarkable service activities, innovative vision, and strong commitment towards humanitarian causes. He encouraged members to continue working with unity, fellowship, and dedication in line with the Rotary motto “Service Above Self.”
