COURT AMIN OF BANGOMUNDA TAHASIL, DIST-BOLANGIR NABBED BY ODISHA VIGILANCE WHILE TAKING BRIBE RS. 15,000/-

Bolangir : Sri Nirmalendu Kabi, Court Amin, Court of Tahasildar, Bangomunda, Dist. Bolangir has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe Rs.15,000/- from an applicant for preparation of sketch map and to process file for partition of their landed properties and issuance of new ROR in favour of the respective shareholders. As per the rules of Govt in R& DM department, the applicant had applied for partition of their land before the competent authority. As per requirement of partition of land, sketch map is a must in respect of each shareholder.

Accordingly, applicant met the Amin and requested to prepare sketch map as per requirement of partition. But, Amin Sri Kabi demanded bribe Rs.15,000/- to prepare sketch map and all ancillary works required for partition of land and issuance of separate RORs. Unwiiling to pay the demanded bribe, applicant approached vigilance authorities. Following this, a team of Odisha Vigilance, today nabbed Court Amin Sri Nirmalendu Kabi, today, while taking bribe Rs 15,000/- from the applicant. The entire tainted bribe money Rs.15,000/- has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Kabi and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Sri Kabi from DA angle.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.04 dt.04.05.2026 U/s.7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused Sri Kabi, Court Amin, O/o Tahasildar, Bangomunda, Balangir. Detailed report follows.
