DERAILMENT OF TRAINS AT BAHANAGA BAZAR STATION: PM AND RM ANNOUNCED EX-GRATIA

Kolkata: Train no. 12841 Shalimar-Chennai Coromandal Express and Train no. 12864 Sir M Visvesvaraya-Howrah Superfast Express got derailed near Bahanaga Bazar Railway station at around 18.55 Hrs on 02.06.2023. Accident Relief trains with medical equipments and doctors have also rushed to the site from Kharagpur and Bhadrak. As of now, 38 casualties and more than 300 injured passengers are reported. The injured passengers are being admitted to nearby Hospitals and Health Units.
The Prime Minister has announced that an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the train mishap. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.
The Railway Minister has announced that Ex-gratia compensation to the victims of the accident will be Rs. 10 Lakh in case of death, Rs. 2 Lakh for grievous injuries and Rs. 50,000 for minor injuries.
