Durgapur, West Bengal: Dr. R. N. Behera, Member of Parliament, Jajpur, and Member of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, attended the Consultative Committee Meeting held recently at Durgapur, West Bengal, under the chairmanship of Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy, Hon’ble Union Minister for Steel.
During the meeting, Dr. Behera raised several constructive issues aimed at strengthening the steel sector and enhancing human resource development. He urged the Ministry to upgrade the Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute (BPNSI), Sukinda, into a National Centre of Excellence with advanced training, research, and skill development facilities. He also emphasized the creation of world-class human resource infrastructure equipped with modern technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Dr. Behera further expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Union Minister for Steel and the Union Steel Secretary for taking steps to restart the Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute (BPNSI) at Sukinda, with the support of the Government of Odisha, in response to his persistent request.
The meeting was also attended by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Steel and the Union Steel Secretary, Government of India.
