Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Voice): Beating all odds of the unprecedented pandemic Covid-19, Government has brought in new investment proposals of around Rs. 1,19,214.72 cr envisaging employment opportunity for  over 54,131 persons since February 2020 because of its enabling policy and ‘ease of doing business’. 

            This was known from the Single Window Clearance Authority meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sri Asit Tripathy on virtual mode wherein Principal Secretary Sri Hemant Kumar Sharma presented the details for discussion.  While complementing efforts of various stakeholders, Chief Secretary Sri Tripathy directed IPICOL to do realistic assessment of the land and water that the industries actually need. Sri Tripathy also directed to explore possibilities of advanced technical intervention for harvesting large quantity of rain water and its recycled use.

            Deliberating on the new proposals received during the month as presented by Principal Secretary Sri Sharma, the meeting gave in principle approval to 4 investment proposals of worth Rs.464.72 cr envisaging direct employment opportunities for more than 873 persons. Principal Secretary Energy Sri Nikunja Bihari Dhal assured quality power supply from GRID for the upcoming industries.  The proposals approved in the meeting included the following.

  • Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 72,000 cubic  meters to be set up by  M/s Galax Industries Private Limited in Malipada of Khurdha district  with an investment of INR 93 cr and direct potential employment opportunities for more than 310 persons.
  • A 120 KLPD grain-based distillery unit for manufacturing of Extra-Neutral Alcohol (ENA)/Ethanol and 4 MW cogeneration power plant to be set up in Khorda and Nayagarh  by Globus  with  an investment of INR 151.72 cr and  employment potential for over 300 persons. 
  • A Pellet Plant of 1.6 MTPA capacity to be set up at Lathikata in Sundergarh by Envirocare Infrasolution Pvt Ltd with investment of Rs.100 cr and employment opportunities for over 195 persons.
  • A 4 MTPA Slurry Pipeline project from its proposed Beneficiation Plant at Koira to Pellet plant at Lathikata, Dist- Sundergarh to be laid  by M/s. Envirocare Infrasolution Private Limited with  investment of INR 100 cr, and  employment opportunity for more than 68 persons.

      Development Commissioner Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Agriculture Production Commissioner Sri R.K. Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Forest & Environment Dr Mona Sharma, Principal Secretary Industry Sri Hemant Kumar Sharma, Principal Secretary Water Resources Smt Anu Garg, Chairman IDCO Sri Sanjaya Singh, MD IPICOL Dr Nitin Bhanudas Jawale along with Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of concerned departments participated in the discussions.
