Bhubaneswar, 25th June: The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has made an impressive debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rankings 2026, securing a place in the 401–600 global cohort and ranking 7th in India overall.

Participating in the prestigious global rankings for the first time, KISS earned recognition across several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It secured the 90th position globally in Quality Education, 60th position in Gender Equality, and was placed in the 101–200 global cohort for No Poverty. The institution was also ranked in the 401–600 cohort for Reduced Inequalities.

The rankings are the result of KISS’s longstanding commitment to providing free, holistic education to tribal and underprivileged children while promoting inclusive and sustainable development.

Times Higher Education publishes the Impact Rankings to assess universities worldwide based on their contributions towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Expressing his happiness over the achievement, KIIT and KISS Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta said, “We are delighted that KISS has made such an impressive debut in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to inclusive education, social transformation, and sustainable development. It inspires us to continue working towards creating a more equitable and compassionate society.”
