Jharsuguda, 28/04/2026: The 178th birth anniversary of Utkal Gourav and Kulabruddha Madhusudan Das was observed on the DAV Public School premises. Madhusudan Das, regarded as the symbol of Odia self-respect, the father of the Odia nation, the pioneer of indigenous industrialization, and the pathfinder for the formation of a linguistic state, was also the personality who enabled Indian women to enter the legal profession. He was known for his extraordinary legal expertise, self-esteem, and for initiating many remarkable reforms and progressive movements.. Inspired by the Principal of the school, Laxmikanta Debta, the DAV team paid homage to the legendary personality by offering floral tributes to his portrait and remembering his unforgettable contributions with deep reverence and respect. During the Madhubabu Jayanti meeting, teacher Nilima Patel expressed her views on self-respect and Odia identity, while Madhusmita Palei presented a reading on the life and achievements of Madhubabu. Satya Narayan Jena conducted the proceedings of the programme and Rashmi Rekha Sharma led the vote of thanks. All the teachers were present and contributed towards the successful organisation of the event.
