Molecular tests in cancer soon in AHPGIC

Bhubaneswar/Kalinga Voice: As another big step towards universal quality healthcare, Molecular tests in cancer will soon start in Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute for Cancer (AHPGIC), SCB Medical college & other tertiary care centres on PPP mode in parternship with Bhubaneswar based In DNA Laboratory.
The samples will be collected from these Institutions , tests performed in the laboratory in Bhubaneswar & reports submitted back to the concerned Institutions.
The entire cost would be borne by the State Government through Nidan Scheme. The laboratory is selected through an open tender by OSMCL.
Molecular tests of tumours are advanced version of tests those can help to understand the tumour biology and plan the treatment more precisely for targeted therapies. It’s expensive and require specialised laboratories & expertise.
This facility will be of immense help for quick treatment of cancer patients
OSMCL has signed agreement with InDNA for SCB Cuttack , MKCG Berhampur, VIMSAR Burla, PRMMCH Baripada, FMMCH Balasore, BBMCH Bolangir , SLNMCH Koraput, Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar and RGH Rourkella . The facility will commence in these institutions shortly. according to Health & FW department sources.
