New Executive Committee of IIA Odisha Chapter Takes Charge for 2026–28

Bhubaneswar : The newly elected Executive Committee of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Odisha Chapter for the term 2026–2028 assumed office on September 16, 2026, following the election results declared on September 4, 2026.
Ar. Mousumi Nanda has been elected Chairperson of the IIA Odisha Chapter. The new team comprises the following office-bearers
• Chairperson: Ar. Mousumi Nanda
• Vice Chairperson: Ar. Laxmi Narayan Singh
• Hon. Treasurer: Ar. Bibhudatta Sahoo
• Jt. Hon. Secretary: Ar. Debi Prasad Sahu
• Jt. Hon. Secretary: Ar. Bhakti Prasad Mahapatra
The newly elected Executive Committee Members are Ar. Nandini Parida ,Ar. Lagnajit Mohapatra , Ar. Shiva Prasad Rath , Ar. Saumya Ranjan Behera , Ar. Sneha Lata Dash , Ar. Anusuyа Tripathy, Ar. Rabi Narayan Das, Ar. Shankar Giri, Ar. Abhinav Kaushal and Ar. Manas Ranjan Nayak
In addition, Ar. Rudra Sabitru Nayak and Ar. Dibya Jyoti Ray have been co-opted as members of the Executive Committee.
The new Executive Committee formally assumed charge on the occasion of the General Body Meeting of the IIA Odisha Chapter for the year 2025–26, held on September 16, 2026. The meeting commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, setting an auspicious tone for the new tenure.
The General Body Meeting was chaired by the newly elected Chairperson, Ar. Mousumi Nanda, in the presence of the outgoing Chairperson, Ar. Swapanadaata Mohanty, who was later felicitated by the newly elected chairperson Ar. Mousumi Nanda.
Ar. Akshaya Kumar Beuria, who has been elected as Vice President of the Indian Institute of Architects, was also honoured during the meeting. The members conveyed their appreciation and best wishes to him for his new responsibility at the national level.
The outgoing Treasurer, Ar. Laxmi Narayan Singh, presented the accounts of the IIA Odisha Chapter for the financial year 2025–26, which were placed before the General Body for consideration.
Addressing the gathering, the newly elected Chairperson, Ar. Mousumi Nanda, articulated her vision and mission for the 2026–28 term. She emphasized the importance of taking the profession of architecture forward through greater collaboration, professional excellence, inclusivity and meaningful engagement with architects and the wider community. She expressed her commitment to making the Odisha Chapter more progressive, vibrant and responsive to the emerging needs and aspirations of the architectural fraternity.
The new Executive Committee expressed its resolve to build upon the achievements of the previous leadership and to further strengthen the activities of the IIA Odisha Chapter through professional development, knowledge sharing, capacity building, greater participation of members and constructive engagement with various stakeholders.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Vice Chairperson, Ar. Laxmi Narayan Singh, who expressed gratitude to the outgoing office-bearers, members and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the General Body Meeting and the transition to the new Executive Committee.
The IIA Odisha Chapter looks forward to a progressive, inclusive and professionally enriching tenure during 2026–28, with the new leadership committed to advancing the interests of the architectural profession and contributing meaningfully to the built environment of Odisha.
