Odisha becomes the first state to launch the “Unified Revenue Collection Project”

Puri (Kalinga Voice) : Odisha becomes the first state in the Country to launch the “Unified Revenue Collection Project” under the Shared Municipal Services programme. The Project was launched by Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) , Government of india Durga Shanker Mishra at Puri today which was attended by senior officers from several states. The initiative will enable a system where Mission Sakthi SHGs will be empowered to collect multiple municipal revenues such as – property tax, trade license fee, user charges for solid waste management, water charges etc.

Ministry of Housing and urban affairs, Government of india launched a national level association of water supply and sanitation services organizations of all states and UTs in an event held at Bhubaneswar which was attended by senior officers from several states and UTs. Secretary MoHUA will be the president of the association and principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Odisha is unanimously elected as the vice president cum CEO of the association.
All the dignitaries from various states visited Puri city where Drink from Tap 24×7 water supply is functional and interacted with the people and the jalsathis. Government of india has organized this event to to learn the drink from tap mission from Odisha and to implement that in their respective states .
