Government appealed to withdraw the strike to avoid any inconvenience to public and latter agreed to call off with immediate effect.

Bhubaneswar : As the Odisha Motor Transport Workers Federation is on indefinite strike opposing the anti driver legisltion (provision relating to Hit & Run) of the Central Government and the goods transport is affected grossly, the Government of Odisha held a discussion with the representatives of Odisha Motor Transport Workers Federation Today. There was a cordial discussion with the Representatives of Odisha Motor Transport Workers Federation who have called for strike on behalf of Transport Workers against the new provision made in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. From State Government side, Chief Secretary and Senior Officers were present and appealed to the Union based on the statement made by the Union Home Secretary. The Federation was requested to withdraw their strike to avoid any inconvenience to public. The Federation was represented by Sri Janardan Pati and Sri Ullash Swain and Others.

The Federation agreed and have given the statement that the Strike has been called off with immediate effect.
