Bhubaneswar/ Talcher (Kalinga Voice) : One OMVD Traffic Inspector Talcher has been caught in the trap of Vigilance and over Rs 24 lakh cash has been recovered yet by the investigating agency.
Based on reliable information, on late night of 11.01.2024, Sri Jitendra Kumar Behera, Traffic Inspector, Talcher, Dist-Angul was intercepted by a team of Odisha Vigilance at Trinath Bazar, Balianta, Bhubaneswar while traveling in his vehicle (car) bearing Regd No OD 33T 3839 from Talcher to Astarang, and cash Rs.11,15, 470/- (suspected ill-gotten cash) was found in his possession. As Sri Behera could not account for satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized.
Following the interception, house search was carried out at his rented house at Talcher and house at Astarang from DA angle which ar continuing. During searches so far, Cash of Rs 3,08,750/- and 336 gm gold from rented house at Talcher and Rs 10 Lakhs from house at Astarang have been unearthed.
With this total cash seizure comes to approx Rs 24.24 Lakhs. Further, searches are in progress at the house of Sri Krushna Chandra Behera, brother of Sri Jitendra Kumar Behera, located at Paradeep.
