Sensitization and Interaction Program for Workers and Employers of Joda Mining Area.

JODA, (Kalinga Voice) : As part of the ongoing Iconic week of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav under the aegis of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India,the office of Dy. Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Bhubaneshwar organized a sensitization and interaction program for workers and employers located in Joda mining belt on 11th March 2022 at Joda West Auditorium, Tata Steel Limited, Joda.

Smt. Shakuntala Patnaik, Dy. Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) Bhubaneswar was the Chief Guest in the above program. In her speech, she highlighted the provisions under various welfare schemes and labour laws enacted by Government Of India for the benefit of workers.The program was also graced by Shri P.K. Rana, RLC (Central)Bhubaneswar,Shri S.K. Sethi, RLC (Central) Rourkela, Dr. S.K. Sethy, LEO (Central) Rourkela and Barbil,     Shri Saroj Kumar Banerjee, Chief (Joda) Tata Steel, Shri G.V. Satyanarayana, Chief (Khondbond) Tata Steel, and Shri Awanish Kumar, Chief (Manganese Mines), Tata Steel.

The program was facilitated by Mines Division of Tata Steel Ltd. Senior executives of various mining companies including SAIL, Tata Steel, OMC, Jindal Steel and Power, JSW Steel Ltd, Rungta Mines, Triveni Earth Movers etc. participated in the above program along with 250 workers including 124 nos of female workers.

The program was also attended by Shri Maheswar Rout, General Secretary, Keonjhar Mines and Forest workers Union, Shri Indramani Behera, General Secretary, Keonjhar Mining workers Union, Shri Ranjeet Kumar Das, General Secretary, Joda East Mazdoor Union, Shri S.B Sandha, President, Khondbond Iron Mine Mazdoor Union, Shri Rama Chandra Patra, General Secretary, Manganese Mines Workers Union.

Around 60 employers and their representatives were present in the second session held for highlighting obligation of employers towards their workers.

Dr. S.K. Sethy, LEO (Central) Rourkela gave a detailed presentation on the rights of workers and obligations of employers under various labour laws.

Shri Saroj Kumar Banerjee, Chief (Joda), Tata Steel gave the welcome speech and vote of thanks was given by Shri G.V. Satyanarayan Chief (Khondbond) Tata Steel.
