Bhubaneswar — Today was the second evening of ‘Guhari 2024’ a devotional and spiritual music festival organised by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Center in association with the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar. Ratha Yatra, the journey of the hopes and aspirations of countless people of the world, who witness the journey of the four deities to their aunt’s home. In such an emotional atmosphere, the devotional music performance of the vocalists based on Shree Jagannath left the audience gathered in the festival spellbound.
The vocalists of the second evening were Sangita Gosain, Abhijit Mishra, Ipsita Panda, Pinaki Nayak, Sursarita Rout, Birapratap Singh, Sibananda Tripathy, Sasmita Mishra and Sourav Bharadwaj. The devotional music performed by them were Mitani Lo Shreekhetra Jiba, Chaka Nayanaku Pari Ta Kehi, Chala Sakhi Amea Darshanka Kariba, Prabhu Ki Sundara Disa, Brudabane Ke Banshi Bajaila, Eka Ta Bhakata Jibana, Ahe Nila Saila, Manima Sunima Heu Gariba Daka, etc. They were accompanied by Sushil Das on tabla, Rabi Narayan Barik on drum, Srinibash Satapathy on flute, Suraj Kumar Rath on octopad, Eraj Kumar Rath on keyboard and Biswanath Mishra on Harmonium.
Guests of the evening were Eminent Singer Padmashree recipient Shyamamani Devi; Prof. Sabita Acharya, Vice Chancellor, Utkal University; Prof. Gitanjali Dash, Vice Chancellor, Berhampur University; Smt. Anamika Adhikari, Registrar, Utkal University of Culture. Sikata Das, Chief Executive and Anuja Tarini Mishra, Administrative Officer, GKCM Odissi Research Center co-ordinated the event. The program was anchored by Dr. Srinivas Ghatuari.
