The Legendary singer SP Balasubramaniam is no more
New Delhi(Kalinga Voice) : The magical “Darling Voice” of indian music industry stopped humming Legendary singer of Indian cinema SP Balasubramanian has passed away. The 74-year-old veteran breathed his last at MGM Hospital in Chennai, where he was admitted in August following a Kovid-19 infection. SP’s Kovid-19 test came negative, but was kept on ventilator in the hospital due to poor health.
On Thursday (24 September), his health deteriorated considerably and he was put on life support system. It was also reported by the hospital by issuing a medical bulletin. The death of SP has triggered a wave of mourning in the Indian film industry and he is being remembered and paid tribute.
SP was admitted to MGM Healthcare Hospital in Chennai on 5 August. He had mild symptoms of the corona virus. He himself gave this information through a video on Facebook. In this video, the SP had hoped that he would be able to recover and return home in a few days, but destiny had something else approved.
On August 13, his health worsened and he was put on life support system. On 7 September, his son SP Charan had informed that his Kovid-19 test has come negative. However, he was not removed from the ventilator due to poor lung condition.
The entertainment industry is in a tizzy with the news of SP’s death and tribute is being paid to him. Akshay Kumar wrote – I am very sad to hear the news of Balasubramanian Ji’s death. He was talked to in a virtual concert during the lockdown. At that time, he was completely healthy and happy. Life is truly unpredictable. My condolences to the family.
SP was primarily known in the Hindi film industry as the voice of Salman Khan. During the nineties he sang many hit songs for Salman. Salman had also tweeted on Thursday night, praying for his health. He wrote- Bala Subramaniam sir. My heartfelt prayers for your health and thank you for every song you sang for me and made Dil Deewana Hero Prem special. Love you sir
Kamal Haasan also paid tribute to SP Balasubramanian. On Thursday, Kamal also went to the hospital to know his health.
SP Balasubramanian was known for his humble personality and brilliant voice. Music maestro AR Rahman shared his picture with SP on Twitter and wrote- “ i am devastated”
