Jharsuguda, 15/08/2026: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the premises of DAV Public School, Jharsuguda. Sadakar Kumbhar, Tahasildar-cum-Executive Magistrate, Jharsuguda, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and hoisted the Tricolour.
Addressing the students, Chief Guest Shri Kumbhar urged them to work towards personal growth while developing leadership qualities, perform their duties with a sense of dedication towards the nation, face every challenge with courage and contribute to the progress of the country. He also encouraged the students to strive to become successful and responsible individuals in life.
The Principal of the school, Laxmi Kanta Debta, delivered the welcome address and called upon everyone to shoulder their national responsibilities and adopt a disciplined way of life. Arjun Agrawal, Founder Member of the school; Tapas Kumar Roy Chowdhury, Committee Member and senior advocate; and Narendra Panda, Committee Member and retired Principal of Lakshminarayan College, attended the programme as distinguished guests. Teacher Namita Pandey delivered the Independence Day speech. Alekha Bihari Sahoo and Anjali Bala Subramanyan compered the programme. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by senior most teacher Neelima Patel. The students of the school presented an impressive parade and a variety of cultural programmes, adding colour and patriotic fervour to the celebration.
