Brahmapur: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has commenced a month-long ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ from September 17, 2026, across various blocks in Southern Odisha. The initiative aims to promoting awareness and adoption of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY).
The Seva Setu Abhiyan is being conducted to bring the benefits of rooftop solar closer to consumers at the grassroots level, in line with the larger national objective of accelerating rooftop solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. By taking the facilitation process directly to communities, the initiative seeks to bridge awareness and accessibility gaps, simplify the adoption journey and encourage more households to embrace clean and affordable solar energy.
As part of the ongoing campaign, TPSODL has successfully conducted Seva Setu Abhiyan camps at Chikiti and Rangeilunda blocks in Ganjam district, and Kasinagar block in Gajapati district. The camps are designed as one-stop facilitation centres, enabling consumers to understand the benefits of rooftop solar and receive support throughout the installation process.
A key feature of the Seva Setu Abhiyan is the presence of dedicated desks for Bank Officials, REC representatives, empanelled solar vendors and TPSODL teams. These desks provide consumers with guidance on the complete rooftop solar adoption journey, starting from registration and application to financing, documentation, installation and availing applicable financial assistance.
The initiative seeks to simplify the process for consumers, particularly those in rural and semi-urban areas, by bringing multiple stakeholders together on a common platform. Through direct interaction with the concerned officials and representatives, consumers can clarify their queries, understand the available financial support and receive assistance in progressing their rooftop solar applications.
The Seva Setu Abhiyan will continue across different blocks in TPSODL’s operational area throughout the month. The campaign will focus on creating greater awareness about rooftop solar, addressing consumer queries and facilitating access to the various processes and financial assistance available under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
